Hmm, maybe I'm blind but I don't see a single comment about the fact that this fellow picked a 5-pin Medeco Biaxial in under 2 minutes. I mean really; who cares about whether or not these cylinders are mounted. The star of this video is the biaxial pick. Oh yeah..."If TOOOL is Open, why can't I join?" :-)

What a twat. This kid probably has bought his picks, not made them and learnt about even the skill of making them, not alone the art of lock picking, thinks because he can pick a poundland padlock which has the total of 2 pins that he is a master locksmith. Grow up, read properly. Oh, and get over the fact that there are better lock pickers than you, infact, many, many more.

Heli400 is correct. When a lock is mounted, if you over set a pin, the top pins will fall into the shear line. When you pick a lock when it is in your hand, it is easy, as you can stop this by leaning the lock in your hand, thus making the pins lie on their side in their chamber. When someone is picking a lock in their hand, they dont hold it upright like as if it would be in a mounted position.

WOW! You don't know me from a hole in the ground. Listen to asbestosboy there. And open your eyes when reading other(s) coments. That is why I choose the words "Different" not HARDER, and skills "better than mine." And you keep assuming that you're the only one skilled in lock picking. Hey, since I don't pick wanna buy my handmade tools? (sarcasm) Go bark up someone else(s) posts.

I find mounted locks to be easier, but that's likely because I've only practiced with mounted locks. I don't think that one way is necessarily 'easier' than the other. I know I was lost my first time trying to pick a *file cabinet wafer lock* unmounted for the first time. It took a while to get used to manipulating both the lock and the tool.

props to their skills (better than mine),... but it's one thing to pick it while it's in your hand. They should practice how the lock would actually be mounted. They'd find it's a different ball game.

I was answering the guys question. He was asking what they're putting in after the tension wrench. (He was thinking the tension wrench was the actual pick)
