jkelly95 ::: Favorites 2008-01-08 16:59:08 why is my shot going right or left? __________________________________________________
grantfaith ::: Favorites 2008-01-07 20:57:31 to me been a good shotter, just gotta be concetrated, and feel comfortable about ur hand so the ball doesn't like slip... __________________________________________________
SwishCoach ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 19:30:02 It's a problem if you have to "strain" to get any power. If not, then you're strong enough. Above the eyes is preferable since you can see the hand/ball better (you can see the alignment exactly), but you need to be of a certain strength. - - Tom __________________________________________________
roKAFA ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 18:41:30 when i shoot, i put the ball a little bit higher up my head. can that be a problem? __________________________________________________
t23baller32 ::: Favorites 2007-12-25 18:30:50 well thanks again tom. thanks to that tip i found my shot knocked down 6 threes in a row. IN A GAME __________________________________________________
SwishCoach ::: Favorites 2007-12-24 18:55:19 I never say to shoot straight up. I say to shoot high, maybe as much as 60 degrees above horizontal, but it has to be appropriate. It may have to be flatter, depending on distance and power. Flatter shots come in hotter and the target is smaller, so think and aim "high" and generate enough leg/body power to accomodate that. If you aim too high with your arm, then you'll HAVE to use your wrist and hand to get the ball moving toward the basket, which engages those smaller muscles. __________________________________________________
atcrossover ::: Favorites 2007-12-24 18:36:49 this is good. Just shoot the same way every time. when you shoot the same way you get more consistent. If the ball goes of ur index last, keep it that way. __________________________________________________
t23baller32 ::: Favorites 2007-12-24 00:39:42 tom u are like the messiah of shooting. anything u say i beleive. thank u so much but i have one more question about shooting i left u an email about it and a comment on th swish 2 clips on you tube. it's about the forward release like Peja and rick mount and Ed Palubinskas and other great shooters like michael redd and jason kopono and larry bird instead of the upward release talked about in both swish videos __________________________________________________
SwishCoach ::: Favorites 2007-12-22 14:59:32 Play with it and you discover how it works the best. I feel, if you relax the wrist and hand, the stroke is more predictable and consistent, more repeatable. And which finger touches the ball last? I don't know and don't care. It's the whole hand doing the work. It's probably the longest fingers, but to make a rule out of it is not helpful. I just know when I relax wrist and hand, the stroke is "pure" and I can do it over and over the same. Check it out. -- Tom __________________________________________________

t23baller32 ::: Favorites 2007-12-03 22:40:17 tom i've been studying ur method for about a year and a half. shooting is what i do and i was studying the shot long beofre i dicovered the swish method and i found some of the same things u did like the efortless release and open stance, but recently ive been shooting inconsistantly and i was just wondering how do u think the ball is supposed to be released from the hand. is it suposed to roll of the hand with the last points of contact being the index and middle finger? __________________________________________________
airjordan23man ::: Favorites 2007-12-03 13:41:29 even some of the players in swish1 like the boys stand square.. i love your method though __________________________________________________
airjordan23man ::: Favorites 2007-12-02 14:46:56 dont get me wrong though i think your method is a shooting breakthrough. Just when i shoot the ball opened which i have been for about a year my body contorts and turns, and is very noticable. So is stand sqaured and i still turn just not as much. __________________________________________________ |
