This is one of the coolest grooves - it took me a while to learn it on drums, but it's pretty cool once you get the hang of it - very linear.

I learned the drums on this song, too. Terry's linear stuff is nothing short of genius. I saw him twice while in Missing Persons, I also met him & got his autograph at a drum clinic way back in '86 in Las Vegas. The last time I saw him was at a drum clinic in 2003, of course he has that monster set, he's such a drumming pioneer. He has pushed the boundries of drumming many times. I love how he solos at the end of this video and does all his double kick combinations.

Yeah man, so Terry at the end of this clip! Check out the "Bozzio solo -U.S Drag" clip, some guy on there argued with me that the song is in some weird time signature like 9/8 or 5/8 or something - tried to explain that is was a pretty simple 6/4 - some people just can't hear the "one" i guess...glad to see another Bozzio fan on here - I love him!

For the main part, where the guitar starts, count to 13. And start over. The chorus is in 4. the solo I count 13 quarters and I don't even know time that well.

Ok. start at the beginning. right after the 2 clicks Terry does, start counting on the 1 of course. Count to 12. Next revolution, count to 13. It's 13 when the guitarist adds the double shot to the phrase.

Yeah, let me re-phrase a bit of what i wrote last....The MAIN groove is in 6/4 ( i'm 101% solid on this, i transcribed it and i practice it regularely) but when Dale sings, it turns to 7/4( sounds like 13 but it's a full quarter note). So a full verse(singing and groove in between) would be (at 0:16): ]7/4] ( Dale singing first line) [6/4] [7/4] ( Main Groove with extra quarter note to set up verse) Repeat this group of measures 4 times.... Hope this helps bro.

One last thing - if you're counting 12, 13 etc. then you'd be counting the 8th note, not the quarter. The quarter note should be around 100bpm?
