The best solution is to drop Socialist programs that don't create more wealth. "Feel-good" programs are a huge expense that doesn't do anything to keep you free or your families safe. Heck, Socialism just helps low-life scum live longer in order to victimize you!

Absolute rubbish!!!!! We hsve a smaller nave know because the Government will not pay for them. I sure that lots of men would join up if we had the ships for them to serve on.

KlubMarcus I sometimes wish the people I fight for would invest more money on us because we need all the equipment. Im glad there are people like you out there who can tell the truth. Piece.

That's because the British population is unwilling to pay for and serve the Royal Navy on a significant and long-term basis in comparison to Americans and the US Navy. So UK leadership has little choice but to keep a navy with fewer ships with piecemeal capability and upgrade them later.

Im in the marine and I've been on a ship that surved in the folklansd war some 20 years ago and she's still going stron. I would like to piont out that the Royal Navy has slightly less ships because Tony Blair began mothballing them back in 1997 and some of the ships he mothballed were brand new and had not seen any action what so ever.

Actually, it does. The first missile subs used modifed land-based ICBM's in extended attack sub hulls. The RN carriers are pretty old, too.

Agree with you totally. Those who scaremonger without looking at the facts are idiots. A navy having more boats doesn't mean its more powerful in any way shape or form.

only getting rid of 5 ships really all the others are being replaced. with the new ships we'll have the most powerful navy next to the US no one else has that kind of force

no it really has the second largest in terms of gross tonnage. basically more ship material floating, like the other chap says lots of countries have lots more boats like corvettes torpedo boats and patrol things. Royal navy is second only to the US navy.

Yes but India having ICBM's has nothing to do with their Navy, it is ground based and can't be force projected 8000 miles from home. And you do realise INS Viraat their operational carrier is the former HMS Hermes which they bought from the RN 25 years ago and whose service life is coming to an end!!

India already had ICBM's so they really aren't that far away. India has one operational carrier, one in refit. So the UK better work harder if they want to keep the Royal Navy up!
