amybreese ::: Favorites  2007-05-07 17:43:45 Ive heard that the vets on course did not have the appropriate equipment, they didnt have an arterial clamp or anaesthetic to put him on his side..also that he passed away in the ambulance on route. ITs not on that vets are not equipped for such a major event, or such a horrific accident may not have had such severe consequences! __________________________________________________

No one could see what was happeneing at the green sheets went up. It was a complete freak accident. to discredit the people who tried in vain to save the big man is ridiculous __________________________________________________

Every1 did there best even with the correct equipment i still dont think he would have stood a chance, by the time the rider managed to stop him he had already lost a significant amount of blood, and it was pumpin out that fast...It was a horrific accident which no1 could hav predicted! I did think the horse ambulance was a touch slow but in this case I doubt it wud hav changed the outcome! __________________________________________________

I just feel that it would be reassuring for other competitors that the vets had appropriate equipment on site for future injuries or problems .. there is no down fall in being over prepared! __________________________________________________

They should have flags like in skiing. i.e they bend on contact. You wouldn't risk a person hitting a metal pole so why a horse? __________________________________________________
