BACHrroco ::: Favorites 2007-12-14 17:33:19 Essa fuga seria uma das coisas que eu levaria para uma ilha deserta. __________________________________________________
mercoid ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 14:05:45 This was so edifying......I am speechless. You know when Secondo in the movie Big Night says "Its so good, you cannot live. You have to kill yourself!" (As he makes dive off a building hands gesture), well this is like that! __________________________________________________
mercoid ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 13:51:56 fmk341, When 3NUNS said "artistic accuracy", he may have had a distinction in mind, say as opposed to a given level of "technical accuracy". I think he deserves a chance to clarify his statement. To me there would be a clear distinction. However I am not quite sure what he means by "artistic accuracy". The mere existence of such a notion, I would imagine, could be debated endlessly to no avail. __________________________________________________
fmk3141 ::: Favorites 2007-11-21 08:44:00 I disagree. I don't think artistic 'accuracy' is really the point. Landowska's playing is beautiful and very powerful to listen to. However, i don't think that she is trying to be 'accurate', because this would be misguided; whether notes are written down on paper or not, music is lost as soon as it is played. __________________________________________________
zkool5 ::: Favorites 2007-11-18 12:48:05 LOL, that's not a nice thing to say! (Though I have to admit that the harpsichord does have extreme limitations compared to the piano) __________________________________________________
nassouio ::: Favorites 2007-11-16 15:00:46 Sounds like a midi-file. __________________________________________________
zonecreep ::: Favorites 2007-11-09 02:52:52 Bach would've crapped his pantaloons to her play it. __________________________________________________
FlorestanEusebius ::: Favorites 2007-10-28 16:26:46 When the second subject appears (in eight notes) she chooses to quicken the tempo a little to make contrast. It works very well. __________________________________________________
efarstan ::: Favorites 2007-08-03 02:29:17 "every note in this fugue as recited by landowska is replete with artistic accuracy" true...she was the BEST __________________________________________________
3NUNS ::: Favorites 2007-07-20 03:21:57 Thanks verodes. Do you think that Landowska was a great ? __________________________________________________
verodes ::: Favorites 2007-07-14 21:00:13 100% agree. __________________________________________________

MusicPredominates ::: Favorites 2007-07-13 03:53:33 3NUNS views are pretty accurate __________________________________________________
3NUNS ::: Favorites 2007-07-12 04:06:12 every note in this fugue as recited by landowska is replete with artistic accuracy __________________________________________________
3NUNS ::: Favorites 2007-07-11 06:36:34 demonstrates plasticity of rhythm as advised by Schweitzer who also declaimed that it was impossible to appreciate Bach's Italian Concerto on the piano after one had heard Landowska perform it on the harpsichord __________________________________________________ |
