Description:

Ex-Girlfriend was orignally a slow song, but was sped up because they already had enough "slow songs" on the Album. Written about Gwen's relationship with Gavin Rossdale, her then boyfriend, now husband. Reached #2 on the Modern Rock charts, #9 in Australia and #23 in the UK. EDIT: Yes, we all know it looks like the anime KITE. Let's play it cool shall we?

Ska, rock or not, that is some of the fiercest goddamn makeup to hit a music video since Janet and Busta's "What's It Gonna Be?!" Then again I'm a makeup artist so I care more about these things than is necessarily healthy.

oh i know. i was simply saying it is hard to BE a ska band, when you have songs like this that are not. no doubt in fact has quite a lot of tunes that do not fit the ska 'stereotype'. personally thats why no doubt rocks, because they do not really fit into a genre. regardless, have a nice day back man

Never said the song was Ska. Said the band is/was Ska. You might have me confused with trophyho. ;-) Have a good day.

big difference between what they WERE and are. you said it yourself. it would simply be a long shot to pass THIS song off as 'ska'; as it is usually thought of. hearing subtle hints of ska, in a 'backbeat' hardly constitutes what a song is. (this drumbeat is more punk than anything)

Ummm actaully yea, No Doubt was a Ska band and billed themselves as such. West Coast Ska and the more popularity they gained the more they came away from their Ska roots, but you here it in the back beat of just about every song they released. ;-)
