dmilvia ::: Favorites boxers have way more fights at the beginning of their career than mma ftr. thats why we see mma champs with unimpressive records. 07-08-03 20:49:05 _____________________________________________________
bigtex100 ::: Favorites it's very different the way mma and boxers build up records. In MMA you see guys with 12-5 records and only fighting pro for a couple of years holding the titles. boxing usally it takes 20-30 fights and 4 or 5 years before you get a shot. And don't kid yourselfs look how long it took liddell to rematch jackson. They take a ton more "voluntary" defenses then boxers. 07-08-03 21:22:20 _____________________________________________________
bigtex100 ::: Favorites and there is no law saying MMA fighters must wait 3 monthes between fights. If you get ko'ed most commisions will make you wait 90 days between fights. 07-08-03 21:23:35 _____________________________________________________
biggiemacmexican ::: Favorites it is way harder for boxers to come up. in mma any guy can be champ. any bum. wait there all unskillful bums. 07-08-03 22:21:26 _____________________________________________________
cdnp4p ::: Favorites robmccreary23...How is it NOT strret fighting? First of all many MMA fighters obtained martial arts belts from phony organizations. Second of all, the majority of martial arts emphasize the importance of the opponent being the aggressor. What they do in MMA would make any respectable sensei cringe in agony. These guys are sloppy roided up street fighters with limited striking skills and yet those striking skills are why people LOVE MMA. 07-08-03 23:51:04 _____________________________________________________
cdnp4p ::: Favorites Some martial arts emphasize neutralizing your opponent as opposed to injuring. This would lead to boring fights. Secondly, many senseis do not believe in their students to use their martial art skills in everyday life UNLESS its absolutely necessary. 07-08-03 23:56:46 _____________________________________________________
cdnp4p ::: Favorites And lastly, MMA is not a REAL FIGHT. Its actually not even close. You know why because the way they fight does not reflect the way a REAL MARTIAL ARTIST WOULD FIGHT. Secondly, there are rules, referees ETC. You're mindset changes when ur fighting for ur life on the street as opposed to a CAGE with rules, refs and fans. 07-08-04 00:01:34 _____________________________________________________
polyamorousboy ::: Favorites Some of you guys are talking out ur ass how boxers are better.there have been plenty of boxers who are in the ufc who have good records on boxing but crappy records in mma. Also of course UFC is exactly "real Fighting"(which means its a good thing to the dummies out there) if it was real fighting, ppl would be dead daily. Rules have to be implemented, no rabbit punching, no fish hooks, etc. The reason UFC is so hated on is because the average person cannot appreciate nor follow ju jitsu at all 07-08-04 00:21:27 _____________________________________________________
