Description:
This is a conversation with a nice woman from the company that issues the MMLA card Ian held up in one of his videos as he claimed he has legal authorization to use medical marijuana. The nice woman from MMLA told a different story advising their card is nothing more than a membership ID that is used by the Dr. and clinics. She said its "helpful" to law enforcement if they want to verify any information when the person does have the MMIC, but that possession of the MMLA card alone will not prevent arrest. This isn't a debate about whether or not pot should be legal, this is about and only about Ian Crossland claiming he is legally protected from arrest by having that card. The organization who issed that card says he is not protected. This is the kind of nonsense that impedes this program for those who need it most - those suffering and in pain. The audio is choppy in the beginning because it was my first time using this streaming audio program. |

Michelle5451 ::: Favorites The mood d/o stuff got on the charts because the law (in CA anyway) is a tad ambiguous - specific illnesses are listed in the law, and so is verbiage about any condition as defined under the ADA. Conditions under the ADA are also ambiguous, some simply being includedvas impairing someone's ability to work, etc. 07-07-21 02:16:46 _____________________________________________________
Michelle5451 ::: Favorites I fail to see how mood d/o fall under that, but for the most part, as I said, studies show pot is a depressant and increases depression in those who have it - so any Dr. who prescribes pot to treat depression is simply abusing the law to give a drug addict what he wants. 07-07-21 02:16:57 _____________________________________________________
txnrobin ::: Favorites Oh, I totally agree. He could have prescribed a 6 pack of Corona, or the generic equivalent, per night just as easily and about as effectively, lol. 07-07-21 02:31:02 _____________________________________________________
Michelle5451 ::: Favorites Exactly! Every former pot abuser I know speaks of how depressed they were while using pot, how disconnected they were from society, how they isolated themselves - so in my eyes any Dr. who "prescribes" it to "treat" depression is committing malpractice. 07-07-21 02:37:15 _____________________________________________________
Michelle5451 ::: Favorites Unfortunately, it's abuses of the law such as this that people are afraid of when making pot use legal, when the legality was really intended for the terminally ill and those in chronic pain. Those who use it by choice to escape reality are ruining it for those who NEED it. 07-07-21 02:37:27 _____________________________________________________
